I am looking to make better ramps on my trailer that either slide in or fold up. I am planning on fabing this myself so basic ideas are good too. Does anybody have some pics that they could show me of a pretty slick set up?

I will take some pics of mine tomorrow. I have a dove tail and they slide in from the back.(handy back there)Do you have a dovetail or a flatbed? Most of them I see slide in under the bed on the side.

I have just a regular flat bed. Right now I have some ramps but there is nowhere to store them on the trailer, so when I drive down a dirt road it is noisy as all hell with them bouncing around. I can pretty much figure out a ramp design, I am just looking for the mounting/storage options. Pics would be great thanks.

my ramps just sit on top of my trailer bed under the rig. to solve the rattling problem....

It's called ratchet straps.

I don't have any pics, but I built mine to fold up and I

hate them. This winter I'm going to redo them to slid in at the back like what's posted above.

Not a good pic, but mine are the fold up type. They were lengthened by the PO, and they slide side to side on a solid steel shaft to accomodate different width vehicles.

I don't know what the PO did, but they're all tweaked. Fairly solid, too.

Don't have any pics but, mine has what would amount to racks welded under the deck so that the ramps slide in on them from the side. Basically, each "rack" consists of 2 pieces of angle iron welded under the frame so that the horizontal leg of each is on the bottom and pointing across at each other. These are mounted side by side with a hole drilled in the center "wall". I slide the ramps into their racks, where they rest on the angle iron legs, and then use a long loop pad lock through both ramp sides and the hole in the center wall.

Easy to do, and it works well enough. I rarely have to load anything that can’t climb in without ramps (like my rig can), but, when I do, they are there and handy…
