MY new tow rig

It started out as aparts rig for my brother's 68 1200 DD, but now i am thinking of trying to build a tow rig out of it. driving sketchy, unregisterd shit to the trail has gotten old, (and expesive) so i gotta do something. here's what i have to start with.

64 IH 1300 4x4, 266/T98/NP200/RA-20/D70. with 16k GVW 4x2 1600 parts rig. $500. The catch? 6.17 gears. i am gong to take off the dump bed, and widen a stepside 9' express pickup box to make it look like a modern dualie. the T98 is pretty much gne, and the 266 is not enough motor, so i am thinking detroit 8.2 and clark 5spd overdrive. Its gonna be slow, but will haul anything i need to, thats for sure. The motor and tranny are from a schoolbus, $800 delivered. The 6.17's are ag-cut gears, so i am thinking that they will build up a signifigant amount of heat if i were to gear it up more, say by running a divorced 205 backwards. Whadaya think? comments, suggestions needed

re:pics

None yet, gotta borrow a digi, then find $20 for a star. Right now she's a little rough, but it'll get there. hopefully i can seel the good dump body and hydros to pay for some of the parts i need. 4-wheel drum brakes is going to be fun too i gotta do something about that, but i really don't know what yet. i really like the beef of the 70/RA-20 combo, but discs for them don't exist. especially considering the big-6 lug pattern.
