F650 lower dash panel and ZF6 shifter mods
I'm in the process of putting an automatic F650 dash panel in my Superduty which has a ZF6. I'm doing this so that I have room to mount a bunch of switches for lights, compressor, air bags, etc.
In the process of fitting the F650 dash panel I changed the shift lever and shifter boot and put on a Meritor Cruise Shift gearshift knob. It has the cruise control switches and a switch for my exhaust brake built right into the knob. Details are here if anyone is interested. You'll have to sign in if you want to see the pictures. http://powerstrokenation.com/forums/...ad.php?t=78169 Here are some teasers. ![]()

Yes, I do.
But when driving (towing) in the mountains its a pain to use them because because your right shifting hand is constantly going back and forth between the shift lever and the cruise control switches on the steering wheel and the exhaust brake switch on the dash. I hate having to hold the throttle to the floor when towing in the mountains. I like having the truck running on cruise control when climbing. Now all the switches will be in one spot, on the gear shift where my hand already is and it will be super easy to engage and disengage it. Ditto for the exhaust brake. I think it will be a big improvement. |
