Hey Tim...sweet FJ. First time I've seen this thread. Too bad it didn't get finished the way it was supposed to.

I'm pretty sure the Tacoma spindles/uprights are identical. Do you need a left and a right? I have one spare I could sell right now, and I'll have two more in a little while after I finish my LT kit. Been working on it for WAY to long but it's getting really close to being done. Will be trying out ORIs on this IFS setup...hope they can support the weight but can always swap them for coilovers. Going with the same D60 RCVs and 930 inners. A few pictures if you haven't already seen them:

So tim, is this FJ going to end up entering the KOH one day or has that plan been totally scrapped for good?

I for one would love to see it happen....atleast to see it competing and hopefully finishing.

Right now we have no idea what is happening. It is sitting in one of my shop bays (I only have a couple ) with a hole in the oil pan and two severely bent spindles. We got a replacement oil pan a couple weeks ago and are now just waiting to find a couple straight spindles.

I doubt we'll ever try to enter it into KOH again, we had our chance in 2009, the level of competition is so high now that if we were to do it we would build a complete buggy. That said, we do hope to have it compete in a few races next year, a VORRA and a couple of our local short track events.

Just a few pictures from the race, OTM finished first in Class 7. The next race will be in Jackpot NV in July.

I'm not sure what you have done to it so far but to start with getting rid of all of the emmisions control helps alot and an aftermarket wireing harness and ECU that is tunable. I asume you are already SC'd.and that you have removed the AC and other non esential pulleys.I will be starting a new thread soon that shows alot of this being done.

Honestly I don't know what is done to it, I think just a free flowing exhaust and a cold air intake.

When I got long tube headers and got rid of the CATs I couldnt believe the difference it made. I would be interested in what type of programmer you get and how it works. Once you start getting rid of alot of factory stuff you really need the programer to make it run properly otherwise the ECU keeps getting codes that say sometnig is wrong. I will know more about this soon and hopefully get some pics. There is a place in Tucson that is really good at this kind of stuff and I hope they will educate me as they continue to work on MAD Dog.

Will you be racing in the modified or unlimited class? I know tires would have to be switched to fit modified regulations, but wasn't sure about the rest of your setup...don't think I've seen the technical specs on your complete setup before.

I have been holding off on too much talk about this due to some sponsorship agreements and an official media release. We did not know of the Stock modified class when we originally started planning on this. I am interested in racing both at KOH but that probably would not be wise due to how hard this type of race is on the vehicle. I think we really have to see how she does at the Stampede with the other Unlimited's. That is scheduled to be our first race.

I hope to have the build up soon so all can see what we are dealing with it is a totally different animal from what it was when shot for 4 Wheeler.
