Looking at the new rules Dave just posted it looks like a Formula Toy would be legal in the modified class on its own.

Looks like all the modded Ftoys would fit also. Are we running in full on Mod class or haveing an F-toy subclass with tighter restrictions to follow Ftoy rules?

I would build a comp legal Formula Toy. Its going to be the best bang for your buck. But if your Formula Toy is not class legal you can still race in the Stock Mod class. The fun part about competition is competing, not how much money you spend or how fast you go. Trading paint with 10 or 15 other Formula Toys would be a blast and the closest competition you are going to get at KOH.

Reading the new rules it looks good, but what about the looking like a production vehicle part. Or FToy's would have an exception as there own sub class. I am thinking about running in it anyways, just because it would be cool to have all those FToy's together. Kinda a mild to wild photo shoot toimp:

As I read the rules, as long as Hendrix has sold 250 chassis' then the Ftoy is legal to run as it is, a production chassis. How about it Mike, sold 250 of these things?

wait a minute..... Instead of fighting with a toyota cab I can buy your formula chassis and install it on to a custom box tube frame and be Mod class Legal? Can Dave confirm this?

I was planning on using toyota so it looked like a production vehicle.
Other wise my Mod build is a full blown race truck. I would love to use a formula chassis.... it would be so much cleaner and simpler.

It seems quite unclear which rules to follow.. (maybe just me?)

Ex..
FToy rules has no tire size or type limitation... Ultra4Mod - 37 DOT
FToy rules have motor restrictions .... Ultra4Mod - Any and all!
FToy rules Shocks just limited to non-rebuildable (no length restriction)....Ultra4Mod - allows 2 per wheel- 2.5 body 14" travel max

Seems it would be best for separate subclass soley for existing Comp Legal F-Toy (plus the additional applicable Ultra4 SAFETY rules). Therefore it is more level playing field, than against the built LSx, TJs on links.

- Just make separate exceptions to the existing rules for KOH /Ultra4 such as the shock rules initially proposed.

Do you want to compete with the other WE-Rock comp-legal FToys, or do you want to compete with the TJ's with LSx's and links?

If you're running a linked FToy with 250hp linked on 40's, it's a hollow victory to say you beat a 22RE FToy on leafs and 37's. Same FToy with 250hp linked on 40's vs. a 350hp TJ on 37's would be a real race!

To me I would prefer to compete with other WE-Rock comp-legal Ftoys. Figured that was the intent of the class?

I didn't see your post until this troll bumped it, but I wouldn't feel "beat" if a linked, turbo'ed FToy smoked me, but you can imagine how he'd feel if you crossed the line first in your leaf'ed 22R!

Yep.. Planning on making the 2-3 day journey across the country to come out and race. Just tryin to do some prep work to make sure my rig is legal against the other f-toys..

Questions like:
Will there be a specific f-toy class (with prizes) for the existing f-toy rules? or are we all lumped into the existing Ultra4 modified class?

If so, are we going to be opened up to Ulra4 Modified rules? ex.. 37 DOT tires, open radiator position, 2 shocks per corner, any motor, tranny, any suspension, full hydro, ect?

If not. What is going to be allowed in the F-toy class. Same existing rules except rebuild-able shocks up to 14" with 2.5 body?

(Any tire size, NON-DOT, front radiator position, 1 shock per corner, leafs front and rear, toyota running gear, ect.. )

Hendrix Motorsports will have a $500 cash prize for the top finishing comp legal Formula Toy in the KOH EMC.

The smart thing to do would be to build your Formula Toy to be legal for both classes. I.E. Following WEROCK Formula Toy rules with the two added rules.
1. 37" DOT tires
2. one 14" x 2.5" shock per wheel.

Of course you have to follow all KOH safety rules.
