Got my Hendrix engine mounts

I got my new motor mounts from Mike at Hendrix Motorsports..... They are farken nice and a great price(especially in comparison to the stock Toy mounts). This will make moving my engine back so much easier. Thanks Mike.

I'm assuming these mounts also drop the engine down a couple inches? At least if I'm looking at them right they appear to...

Just thinking of nicer options than boxing in the engine mounts on my freshly SAS'd frame...

Send a message via AIM to Wilson
Bastage From wha I can gather they will drop the motor however much lower you locate the new mounts ( although I think moving the mounts up wll be common in the formula series).

Mike where are my gussets?

They sit flush on the frame. It looks like the engine sits at the same height. You just are moving the engine back 8 inches.

I just put it there to show how it rests on the frame and that it does not lower the motor. It's actually going 8 inches back from the stock location. I still have a ton of work to do on my frame before I start welding.

Those mounts look sweet I may have to get some for my #016 too What are you going to do for your pedal assembly? I'm still waiting to see what Camo comes up with as they are still making the proto type that will be available through HindrexMotorSports coming soon. Are you going to inboard your rear springs? Keep posting pix

The engine mounts on an IFS frame are different, they're a little taller since the "hump" above the axle isn't as high... Just something to watch out for.

No I don't have my frame (#016) yet. I am going to meet them at the Hammers around the 1st of the year and pick it up then. I do intend to inboard my springs as well but not sure if I'm going to do it myself or buy their set up. Won't know till I see their set-up completed and not sure how much it will cost. I'm sure it will be a deal none the less. Hopefully they will have their stuff figured out by then and maybe I'll have them brought out then as well

Are you starting from scratch or building on your current rig? I hope we can get a few of these running soon and have Camo take us to the Hammers or do some kind of Formula Toy run (with Wilson of course).

Yes I am starting from scratch (sort-of!)
I have another Toyota that I'm going to strip down and then when ready I will swap the good stuff from my current flatbet rig to the Formula rig. This way I will only be down a few days
As for the Hammers, It's about a 30 minute drive to the trail heads ("My Back Yard" )

Same plan here. What do you guys plan on doing for your pedal assemblies?

Same here...
I tried emailing him (Mike) yesterday and got an auto-responce that stated he will be out till the 18th of Dec. The same responce says that you can call Camo's wife for questions. Going to call her later.

Could fab my own if need be, however if their prices are as good as the motor mounts, I will buy theirs. Same goes for the inboard kit.

Are you guys going to compete with your rigs in the new Formula Toy Class? I'm going to give it my best shot, at least locally

Not with the current rules. I'm keeping my EFI because I'm primarily building it as a trail rig. If the rules change, we'll see

Hey PaulR, You may be able to keep your EFI after all. And you may be able to compete with it. Go see this thread:http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...hreadid=215799
Then Vote

BTW...Let's see some new pix of your #9
