Todd's Formula Toy #006

As you know, I am competing Todd's rig this year while he is out serving our country.
Well, I can't seem to leave things alone so I thought I would do a little work to the rig before Globe.
I started off by cutting off a few parts

Then I installed an electric fan and made a shroud cause the clutch fan was a little loose.

My idea is to show people that want to buy a chasis but DON"T want to have a rig that looks like everyone elses, that it is possible to have a unique formula toy. Heck, if you just look at the ones who compete, you can barely tell the chasis are all identicle.
That, and it is important to have a well kept rig to keep the current sponsers on board, and to attract new ones.

But to answer your question Hobie, It doesn't matter if it added HP. Just as loong as it LOOKS like it did.
I'm really thinking about putting one of those big ass chrome exhause stingers on next

That looks great John. Too bad I'm always at work, I need to get up there and help with my own rig

Excellent work John. That hood looks tight. BTW, what dimple die (size ) are those holes?

Putting an FJ40 hood on my Ftoy trying to accomplish the same: A little different.

Cya in Globe with those radios

Ya might want to hold off a little while. I'm currently havin an FJ style hood fabbed out of aluminum for my X-Chassis, as soon as it's done it's going up to Hendrix to have a fiberglass mold made of it so the hoods will be easy to produce.

I tred to cut and fit a regular FJ hood already, looks bootie as hell.

BTW if you really want to go with the FJ as I have already done you need to do this

I saw that in your build up thread (Bezel) and was droolin' . That's tight as fawk and didn't realize the extra roundness of what you have as opposed to what Mike built.

Would be very, very interested in a hood and have realized that the Ftoys and the Xchassis are very similiar. Any idea of when this might be available? I'm patient..

Nice to see a different look.

I also am trying to do a 40 hood, but it looks like ass so far. Sits about 6" higher than the dash...haven't had the time to figure it out yet, but if Mike comes up with something first it will save me the hassle

That is badass! Very tight hood, the go-fast holes are awsome. Very nice sheet metal work. What did you roll the hood with? Man I need to get one of those dimple die sets.
