Now that I have the wider 86+ rear axle, I decided it was time to ditch the 2"BS wheels. I got some Black Rock Crawler wheels from Crossed Up and started designing my own outer rings. I already have the inner rings so I'm going to go ahead and use those. The outer rings will be made at Crossed Up.
Here are some models of the rings I'm planning to use. The inners, ![]() Outers, ![]() And the complete assy including hardware,

I havent done anything in a while worth posting, but this one is pretty cool. I posted this on the toy board but it goes down the page pretty quick, and I dont know haw many F-Toy guy's look there.
Anyway, At the last comp I did at Donner I bent my rear axle housing pretty bad. Mike and Jerrod over at Crossed Up built me a new one. This thing is beefy to say the least. The center section was fabricated from 1/4" plate and the axle tubes are 3" diameter x 3/8" walll DOM. The axle flanges are designed by Crossed Up and machined from billet by Tim Brown of Metal Works. And yes, they are for sale. Check out their site in my sig. Here are a few pics. Flange and DOM axle tube. ![]() Flange after welding. ![]() ![]() This is the center section and billet aluminum oil fill plug. These things are pretty sweet. It's a machined steel piece threaded to fit the X-up cap, and is sealed with an O ring. ![]() ![]() Mike also set up this diff. V6 housing, 5.29,s and an ARB. ![]() ![]() I still need to finish cleaning up the brake lines. As it sits right now, I have 13" between the bottom of the housing and the floor. The tires are 37"s with 10psi in them. They measure just under 35" tall.

Thanks Hobie! The guy's at Crossed Up did a great job. They are also making front housings, but it will probably be a little while before I get one of those.
Yeah, Kris is going to be spotting for me. I think things are going to work out okay, we just need some more practice working together. Do you think you will be out for PUSU in January? |

I started dialing in my suspension so I called Matt at Trail Gear. His F-Toy flexes great so I wanted some advise from him. He suggested his 5" lift springs with a few leafs removed, and going to 6" shackles. He also set me up with all the dimensions between the spring hanger and shackle hangers. Just by luck my front mounts were exactly the same and the rears were within 1/4". It sounded good so I ordered them up. Two days later they were here. Great service!
At first I put them on with the 5" shackles that I had to see where it would end up. The rears were way to far kicked back. ![]() With this much angle just one persons weigh on the back would compress the suspension far enough to invert the shackles up against the rear X-member and they would stick that way. I went ahead and put the 6" shackles in and that made the angle about 42 deg from vertical. They seem to work great there. ![]() ![]() I left the front's with 5" shackles and wheeled it once, they would hit the frame on compression so I swapped them out to 6" shackles too. I havn't wheeled that yet, but the angles look good. ![]() ![]() Working on a little more bling too I broke down and ordered up some Creeper Locks from Trail Gear too. I still need to work out tires, but the wheels look good in my shop. Same thing, ordered on Monday, at my doorstep Wednesday ![]()

Mike and Jake, we cant thank you two enough for your continued support of the tank. Without those weekly checks for fish food and water and replacement fish the dream of having the only Ftoy fish tank would have Floundered. Thanks for the Clams.
