I am pleased to announce that John James "Desertoy" is now on the board of directors. He is taking Chris Geiger's place on the board. Chris has helped the ftoys alot in the past 2 years and he will continue to help with everything. So if you have any complaints, send them to John

I'd like to see disconnects on the rear shaft considered. Trail-Tough offers an inexpensive bolt on rear disconnect or you could make their own using motorhome drive shaft disconnects. This change could move the Ftoys into the same points spread as the Mod Stock class.

Is it okay to have the disconnect, but not use it in F-toy competition?

Im torn on this. Front only is fun, but adds a cost for all rigs, a disco, and cutting brakes. Very simply it would force you to run one to be competive. Id like to see a few things allowed: turbo's, rear disks, FF, and T100 diffs, but you have to draw the line somewhere.

For them, a lot of folks are already running longs 30 spliners, so breakage appears to minimal if any (I cant break the ones in JRT's mod buggy).

We will be building with a disco, and cutting brakes, just pinned out for comp use.

I am just a newb here building for the first time, using the above logic; wouldn't it be more cost effective to just use an Atlas? And of course if that flies we will all then need CTM or Longfield 60 joints, 300m 35 spline axles and Deadenbear knuckles to stand up to the front burn abuse. I see no issues with this as long as we all promise to never get it awn during a competition.

I haven't broken yet on an all Toy drivetrain. But then again, I'm a puss

Hard to break the drivetrain when youre spotting! Though you seem pretty good at rolling it over!

Maybe in this case you could open it up to a vote of all current Ftoy owners to get some input. If you have a strong majority of owners that would like to see this allowed than you have a strong case to adjust the rules to allow it. If it is closer to 50/50 than the BOD should give it some thought.

Personally I don't think installing an Atlas should be an option, but doing a bolt on conversion or internal/external modification of a toy tcase would be within the spirit of things.

Bottom line, none of it matters, since no one, east or west has showed up to a WERock event all of last year, and no one is talking about it for this year. Unless at least 3 ftoys show, and get a hold of Rich's before hand, they'll be running Sportsmans class anyway. Then class rules dont matter anyway!

Especially when I didn't even own an FToy when the last post was made! :blackflipoff2:

KOH killed any concerns FToy owners had about keeping their buggies "comp legal".

we dissolved the BOD years ago. it had a good run. the idea was to run it like the ultra 4 class. but we kept trying to do with no money and volunteers and that didn't last.
