I liked the orange cones and posted pix of two Zuks competing. Since they thought we hi-jack the thread, Roxy, Fatkid and myself, I haven't posted again. Fatkid, did anyone ever answer you when you asked " Anyone had a chance to watch F-Toy class run?". One month later and 327 replies and 5013 views, it doesn't seem they are getting any closer. What happened to Air Ride's drawing of buggy frame with Suzuki hood and cowl? I liked the 98" wb and 37" tires my self. All this talk about F-Zuk's and no one has mentioned Air Ride's work on this. Hope I'm not hi-jacking here too.

Now that Air Ride has finished up his rig I think he's about to get started for real on the Zuk based chassis.
Maybe he'll chime in and let me know if I'm full of shit or not

I looked throughthe rules so far.....................
should be called Formula transfercase/zuk type ![]() looks completly different then a spec class likle the F-Toys A quick recap on the proposed rules: 35" tire max 4 cyl 2.7L max D44 knuck, Toy knuck max - no D60 knucks 2 seater side by side, no shoehorned seating position, must be comfortable. OE T-cases only- build 'em any way you want, but have to be OE T-case base. Any frame, chassis, body style you want- Just gotta be 1.5" x.120 wall min on the tubing and it needs a grille, hood, body panels, looks like an auto.

Guess we need to change the name of the thread title, nobody wants to read through 18 pages to see what it is about....... We dropped the F Zuk as in a base form like the FToy, you'd need new courses. The Sami knucks wouldn't hold 35"s on the stock mod courses. If you then allow Toy axles or Dana axles amd stretch the wheelbase, it's just not Suzuki anymore. So after a bunch of whining and changing things around, it's now a more generic class....... Formula 4. Look at it as a baby brother to the unlimited class. We're basically only limiting the components, the rest you can build whatever. Oh and that's any OE Tcase, not just Zuk.... No OE manufacturer is restricted.

This is on Hendrix website. You need to pick another name.
---------------------------------------- HREW Formula Chassis $899.00 DOM Formula Chassis $1199.00 (same as HREW except all perimeter tubes are replaced with DOM) DOM Formula Four Chassis $1399 (chassis is stretched 12" to fit extra cab or long bed frame. Chassis has room for 4 full size seats) For more information on competing go to www.formulatoy.com ---------------------------------

Sorry we missed that one mention on the Hendrix site buried in the product listing, guess we should have looked a little closer. I am sure the guy who suggested the name to us was thinking more of the open wheel F4 class. And since they had the name before either one of us, guess we're both in trouble... However, if AirRide wants us to change the name we will. What say you Mike? .

Sorry for any confusion.

For the record I'm building to rigs as we speak, one is a 87 Zuk and the other is an 88 Sidekick...
Toy parts worked for all the guys when we started wheeling, It made sense to put them on Zuk.

But let's face it, everybody is building rigs these days so they don't have to think to get through the trails. |
