Looks like your chassis has been sleeping for a while. Good luck on the build. Keep the pics coming.

I haven't been able to get a lot done this last couple of months but here it is. (I have some good excuses as to why I'm only this far.)

I've got everything stripped down and now I'm going to start putting it all together. Is it legal to run 63" Chevy springs in the rear and the rear Toy springs in the front? What shackles do you think I'll have to run in the front if I run the rear Toy springs up there? The mounts connecting the chassis to the frame are only for mocking things up.

I think you might find that once you move the rear axle back so the tire fits, the chevys will stick out the rear too far.

As for the front. Any 2"+ shackle will work. Are you planning on inboarding the rear springs?

Yes, I am inboarding the rear springs. If the 63's will be too long. What about 56's or 52's?

Deek01,
That seems to be how I work.

The front spring hanger is in and I put the rear springs up front.

Here's what 52" springs look like in the rear with the stock mounts.

I'll be making the new (inboarded) rear spring mounts this week.

Stripped down the donor t case:

Put it all together and installed it:

I still need to convert the front case into a top shift.

I took a week of vacation time to get the buggy a little closer to the trail. I have my dual t-cases all finished. All I need in one more shifter knob and a bolt and spring for the shifter detent ball. I seemed to have lost mine durring the rebuild.

Here's my questions.

1. Will this work for mounting my dual t-cases? Or, will it be too much stress on the back of the case?

Here's a link to the web page it's on:
http://frontrangeoffroadfab.com/nfos...a4ff0e9a13d20f

The other option I was thinking about was making a mount out of a dual t-case skid plate like this one:
http://frontrangeoffroadfab.com/nfos...a4ff0e9a13d20f

2. Should I do a full flat belly skid plate or is it too much added weight?

3. Where can I get some motor mounts made of poly instead of rubber?

4. Where can I get an oil pan bolt kit? The previous owner neglected to put them all back in when he worked on it last.

Well I bought the Front Range skid plate and t case plate. I'm real pleased with the quality of the parts but, I'm going to have to shave a little off of the t case mount so I can fit my passenger seat in better.

Here's were I am now:

Seats mounted.

What's hanging below the frame rails.

I don't have any idea how I'm going to route my exhaust through this mess.

This is what I'm going to cut off. I don't see any problem with cutting it off.

Do you guys see any problems with mounting my pedals like they're mocked up in these photos?

Notice anything new?

I have found that I want to push my pedals further into the engine compartment but my header might be in the way. Are most of you using the stock manifold or a header?

BTW, the only thing new is the red star next to my name.

Looking good but I would get the steering mocked up before I nailed down the pedal location.
Keep the pics coming...

Almost have the motor and tranny ready for paint and propane. There was a lot of dirt and grime all over this motor. I can't belive how long it took to get it all off. I'm still not sure if I should paint the motor and tranny orange or red.

This kit doesn't look all that hard to instal.

This is where I'm going to put the tank. I just have to see how low I can get it before it interferes with the driveline.

Build is looking good.

Is that propane tank going to interfere with your rear shock mounts?

That's from my "Squeezin a Suburban through the Hammers" days.

I couldn't resist the Chevy Orange. The only red I found was a Ford Red and that wasn't going to happen.

The pictures didn't come out too good. They look far better in person. But no where near as good as the BBC in my Chevelle.
