cracked block??
Damn my luck! Seems like I get 1 thing fixed and then find another problem. I cleaned all the built up grease off the engine when building the ftoy and after running it for a little while yesterday noticed I had a slight antifreeze leak toward the back of the engine. I dismissed it yesterday as just a loose connection. tonight I decided to trace it out. On the passenger side of the engine just under the valve cover there is a hairline crack (couldnt see the actual crack, but I can see the radiator fluid seeping out of it. Looks like it about 3-4 inches long. we are hoping that I can clean it up, grind into it, and JB weld it up. anyone run into this before? any ideas on a fix?
anyone wanna buy an Ftoy? lol |

started cleaning it up today. pulled the starter and cleaned the crack up. Took the dremmel and a grinding tip and cut a "v" shape along the crack then drilled holes on both ends of the crack as well as one in the middle. I have some stuff called Inferno that is specifically for a situation like this, and is tolerant up to 1500 degrees. BUT, having never used it I am a little concerned using it vs JB Weld. Thoughts?
