Booty fab or not?
Finally finishing my FJ 60 power steering swap into my BJ40.
I'm almost sure this will be plenty strong but wanted to get your guys opinions on this. To mate the different TRE sizes from the FJ60 box to the stock BJ40 tie rod arm,I used a Nissan patrol tie rod wich has a TRE that fit's into the FJ60 pitman arm, cut it at the right length and then slid the stock BJ40 tie rod inside, plan is to weld it at the end and then drill a couple of holes in the Nissan tie rod and then weld there too. Anyone had any negative experiences with this? This is the steering box, with an unknown pitman arm, it came off of a manual steering toyota box but has the bigger holes than a 40.

That exact process is similar on Scout steering setups for the drag link....Scout pitman, use Scout tie rod to the pitman, cut in half, use the Cruiser other half and it slip fits in exactly....weld the junction and plug weld a couple additional spots to be sure.
I ran mine like that for 3-4 years with no problems. Only concern might be your country's "DOT" regulations...welded steering items in the USA doesn't sit well...heh
