clutch linkage with v8 swap - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

Right now I have a 1F with an sm420. Right now it is a hydro. clutch right? When I go to a v8 (sb350, or LT1) and put in the v8 bell housing, that will replace my current clutch assembly. What do I do about the clutch then? I'm don't really know alot about swaping in a v8 right now so feel free to use laymens terms

I'm at the last step before I connect a 200 shot nitrous kit and blow the engine to kingdom come, maybe I should use c4...probably be safer

Get a bracket from AA and use the hydraulic clutch..

NOT SURE ID YOU KNOW THIS YET, SO I HOPE I'M NOT BEING REDUNDANT... WHEN YOU DO YOUR SMALL BLOCK SWAP, YOU'LL JUST REUSE YOUR EXISTING MASTER AND SLAVE CYLINDERS, YOU JUST NEED TO MAKE A BRACKET TO MOUNT THE SLAVE CYLINDER TO THE CHEVY BELLHOUSING. SEARCH FOR IT, I THINK JIMMY POSTED A PICTURE OF HIS A WHILE BACK, OR IT MAY HAVE BEEN JASON M. NOT HARD TO DO AT ALL THOUGH, DONT SWEAT IT-

I was gonna say...the bracket is nothing more than a plate with a few holes in it.. and a 90* bend.

And I am sure that it was not me that posted a pic of a Cruiser MC on a V8.

I don't even have a V8

But I did help put a cruiser slave in a Landrover with a 283.. Does that count???

Make you'r own bracket and use the hydo clutch system.If thats all you have probs with you got it licked

Mine was a piece of cake. 1 flat piece of steel, a little cutting with the torch, about 5 minutes with the drill press and then working out some spacers to put in the exact right place and ..........TAAAAAFREAKINDAAAAAAA Clutch works great.
