Finished building the front axle...
I just finished building the front axle for my truck, and I was talking with a friend who helped me and I ran the numbers through my head interms of cost... Wow. I should have built a dana 60.
I spent more on this axle build than on my first truck. Longs Mark Williams inner axles-300m material E-locker diff new rotors knuckle rebuild kit Hi-steer arms HD tierods FJ80 TRE's T100 calipers new hoses E-locker wiring harness Cut and turn(did it myself) Mopar spring perches CCOT u-bolts I would not do it again, I would build a narrowed 35 spline outer Dana 60 with an arb, and be around the same cost with ALOT more strength. Just a word of advice...

P.S. dont handle the axles without spraying them down with some wd40 or something, the grease in the finger prints will rust the axles pretty quick. -brett

They told me it would be a 2-2 1/2 week lead time to get it built.
This Tuesday will be 2 weeks, so I will probably see it the week of the 16th. Then the work starts switching everything together. |

I got a bunch of pics, so I can write an article for Ih8mud.com on installing FJ80 electric lockers.
I'll post up some more later this afternoon. It was pricey, but it is as strong as a Toyota axle can get, so I guess I am happy.
