sm465-2f question
is hooking a sm465 to a fj40 motor the same as bolting up a sm420. saw lots of directions on ih8mud for the 420 but none for the 465.

It's been a while...
I am using 3spd bellhousing. Had to turn down the front bearing retainer on the SM465 to fit in the hole of the bellhousing, and used allen-head bolts for the bearing retainer. Using 3spd fork and t-o bearing, Chevy 10.4" clutch, sleeve on the input shaft for the t-o bearing, special pilot bearing in the crank, um... I think that was it.
