$4700 is steep for a non-turbo one. I spoke with a guy in town who had his Isuzu factory reconditioned for 3800 which comes with a 75k warranty. Get this......you can buy a new one with 150k warrantee and roadside assistance.........i wonder if they will come fix stuff at the rubicon? heh. Oh btw its $8500 from Isuzu.........which is why these used ones are seemingly steep.
Personally the Isuzu is a no brainer compared to the Japanese or Canadian Toyota diesels due to the simple fact that you can find parts anywhere. Until you can drop into your toyota dealer for same day diesel parts(if and when toyota brings a diesel to our shores) the isuzu is the only diesel option that really makes sense to me if you can get a hold of a cheap core or low mileage one. |

Meh, I'd rather save up some major bucks and do the work necessary to convert over to a VW 5.0 TDI

From the Owner:
. Also, I have as an option, a Chevy/GM adaptor kit to adapt the Isuzu engine ( 4 or 6 cyl diesel ) to a 350, 400. or a 700R4 (overdrive)automatic trans. Includes a shift down cable for the 400 auto. This option will cost an additional $450.00. If that doesn't get you thinking... easily mates up to the big three (TH350/440/700R4). Anyone know how the vibration of these things are? I know several people that have spent well over $5000 converting their trucks to diesel... why not ![]() (you won't see me bidding anytime soon... )
