This is the most pristine FJ40 I've ever seen

Hey guys,

So I'm new to all this. I caught the Landcruiser fever and I'm doing my research before I take the plunge. Came across this example and fell in love.

Is that an original color?

Are modified FJ40's likely to benefit from the rise in prices thanks to collectors waking up to them as an investment? Or is it only the original spec cars in restored condition that attract their interest?

Basically I am looking to get into a nice one, run it for 5 years, and get out around what I paid for it, so I want to pick carefully. I hope I don't have to look for examples like the one in the article (too expensive) to get that security, but I thought I would ask the experts before searching the classifieds.

So I guess my question is, are modified examples likely to get "left behind" in the rise in value of FJ40's - or would they still be a safe investment?

Thanks fellas.

Close to stock. Low or no rust bodies are the easiest to sell and hold or go up in value. Generally speaking, 76 and newer bring the most $.
Good clean motor swaps with adding fuel injection is not a bad mod if you want to actually enjoy driving a 40. The f motors, 2fs are boat anchors but the purests like um.

Yes that is close to seafoam green. I think Toyota actually called it Spring Green.

Relating to my first post. 40s with options like PTO winch of factory soft top models also make the purist wet their shorts. I get the soft to one but the factory PTO winch SUCKS to actually use.

How about this one? Just picked it up cause I couldnt pass it up. My first FJ. Was hoping to get some feed back from the cruiser gurus here on price and what makes it nice. Tons of pics on the lift to show how little rust. All stock except Chevy 4spd(71) and not sure what springs. Most everything works. Clean inside and out.Runs like a top.
