Post how many of you have no top for your cruzah?

i am contemplating on whether to sell my top in need of the cash flow or to keep it. my top will require me to reinstall the fiberglass top part and reseal it be4 i can put it back on and was thinkin about if i just ditched it. i know people w/ trail only rigs dotn have tops like dog walker, lance and etc. but i plan to drive my cruiser hear and there. in the rainy season i can tarp it but when i got on runs in snow/rain..then im screwed. if i kept the doors, w/ the bikini top it would sheild most of the cab and its herculined anyhow so water in the cargo bay aint crap. its just...how bad would it be topless forever? just a thought...thanks!

My roomate broke my last hard top. I about cried. Now I use my bikini and soft doors and dont really miss it that much. But then again its not really my every day driver. I say get rid of it. I wont use a hard top again, but I also have the soft top. But then again I guess I would use it if I had it. Hell now I am confused now.

I have had my cruiser for 13 years. I sold the original top & drove 2 years rain or shine without any top. Frooze my butt off & got wet when it rained. I now have another hardtop that goes on only when we are out in really nasty weather. Otherwise,we just run a full length bikini top with my steel half-doors.

My hard top will probably never get used again, now that my rig is spring over. I prefer the soft top and I don't expect to use that more than a couple months out of the year.

I like my little top, I made it out of an old truck tarp.

What years do the fiberglass caps interchange with and fit? To be more specific my 67's fiberglass cap attacked a tree on the passengers side and lost what years of caps will fit my 67?

i've run soft top only, hardtop, and no top and no top really isn't that bad as long as you've got a good bikini top and doors for the crappy weather.

i keep my hardtop for the winter months because i do like to drive my 40 (as often as possible) and i like the looks of a cruiser with the hardtop, but the hardtops rarely seal well anyway, so living without isn't that bad of an experience.

I would much rather run no top than those POS hard tops. Especially if you are sprung over. You have to take corners ALOT slower and you are really top heavy. Soft top is the way to go if you can find one these days, otherwise the bikini top, a nice set of half doors, and a Gortex jacket should get you through a California winter....

I went for many years in SoCal with only a bikini top. Then I moved (suddenly) to Tulsa OK in January! I'm sure I was quite a sight driving to work covered in snow. I have a Bestop now- the heavy rain here makes some kind of top necessary for a good part of the year.

Who made your full lenght bikini top? I was planning on taking my Spector one to the local boat cover maker and see what he would charge...but who made yours???

My FJ40 stays in the garage and I don't have to worry about weather since it is NOT my daily driver. Don't need a top in Texas.

If you do any wheelin in the winter there i bet you wish you had a top Its colder than a withces tit in the winter in most parts of texas and its to hot in the summer to do any wheelin so I bet you come to good ole sunny CALIFORNIA to do youre wheelin if you run with out a top I just got tired of freezing my balls in the Sierras and getting caught in sudden thunder storms at 9000ft and not to have anthing to cover me and GOD gets a good laugh at doing that so I dont care what anyone thinks you cant beat a soft top

A softop would not last very long where we go wheeling in TX, OK, and AR. The trails are very very brushy and lots of tree limbs for custom pinstriping. Also, I run a bikini top and will run some soft doors for those "cold" days. Wearing some good rain/cold weather gear will do wonders for you when you wheeling.

I know exactly what you mean about being in the mountains. Last May we were at Cruise Moab and after we did Prichett's Canyon and were coming back it rained and sleeted. YES, I could have used a soft or hard top.

Wish we had the perfect CA weather in TX.
We'll be going to Poteau, OK for Labor Day and I expect it to be in the 110* degree range.
