Just to give you an idea I saved my cruiser from a horrible life plowing ice racing courses on MN lakes. It was only a driving chassis, no body, just a home made firewall with a bucket seat bolted to a plywood floor running off of a snowmobile gas tank! with homemade exhaust stacks using motorcycle pipes welded to the factory manifolds!

My list is mild compared to others, all Toyota parts - installed or soon to be installed:

'71 FJ40 with '77 or '78 2F with '71 F engine manifolds and carburetor, ? FJ40 water pump, '78 FJ55 4-speed tranny/transfer case, '77 FJ40 rear driveshaft, ? FJ40 front driveshaft, '83 mini-truck PS gearbox w/custom bracket, '84 Tercel PS pump on ? FJ40 smog pump bracket, ? FJ40 alternator on '77 FJ40 bracket with ? FJ60 adjusting bracket, ? FJ40 skid plate, '85 mini-truck front disc brake axle parts, new FJ60 rotors, '87 mini-truck calipers, '75 FJ40 steering column/wheel, '89 mini-truck booster/master cylinder, ? 2WD mini-truck stering shaft/rag joint, new non-USA vacuum advance distributor and who knows what else. The guy at the Toyota parts counter goes nuts when I try to buy seals, gaskets, and all those other small parts. My wife says I better write this down in case I get hit by a truck and she has to figure it all out (she appreciates Cruisers and fully intends to keep them if I kick the bucket).

Considering I purchased my cruiser at a junkyard, I guess the ENTIRE truck is junk!

1974 title (original truck cost me $800)
1969 frame/firewall, custom tub ($200)
junkyard 350, $100
"junkyard" SM465, $40
"junkyard" 72 transfer case (whole truck cost me $75)
junkyard Confer rollbar (came on the 69, been added too since)
"junkyard" PS box ($45)
junkyard AC compressor (free)
junkyard PS pump (free)
"junkyard" rims (free)

("junkyard" parts are from friends "collections" lol)

Might be easier to add up the stuff that I've purchased new!!

He rolled at pismo a few years ago and was never heard from agian....
Ok, I'm making that last part up.

As for junk yard parts, I dropped my sm420 in the mud at picknpull and a rainy day. I looked clean by the time I got home, so I bolted it in. Been running great ever since.
