anyone know the weight of a bare housing for a 40? No knuckles or guts, just the housing.
Trying to figure out shipping weight.

Nah,
I have an empty rear housing in my garage and it could not weigh over 50 lbs. Email me off line tonight and remind me to weigh it for you. wngrog@aol.com

Hey Rabid,
I just sent out a couple bare axle housings yesterday, so I know exactly what they weigh. The front housing with a cardboard wrapping was 55 lbs. The rear was 47.5. JFYI, it cost $33 each to have the housings shipped from FL to CA via FedEx ground. Hope this helps... Shane

Yep, that's what Ian (complaine) was thinking -that the axle weighs about 350 complete - the 100 was a guess. Oh well, nice try Ian! Rob - I just realized I can say bye bye to the parking drum - yeee haw Andy
