Longer wheel studs, are they safe?

I have just had made some 1 1/2" and 2" wheel spacers, I have been told by an engineer that longer studs will definitely break and that we need to attatch studs to the spacers and bolt the spacers to the hubs.
I'd like to know what experience anyone has had in this area and what is recommended?

Get a different offset rim
or get a spacer with his own set of studs.

and for your information spacer are on the treaded area of the spacer not as strong.

Anyway, the spacers I have from Performancewheel.com have the standard size lugs attached to the spacer itself.

Nolen, what size spacers do you have and can you tell me what shocks you have on the Front. Are your bump stops extended Ta in advance

When I used to drag race the class I was in required longer studs with open lugs to pass tech...............

but your rim wasnt spaced away from the axle flange, creating leverage.
bludog if you can machine a hole big enough for the lug nut to go into the spacer, and just deep enough to let it sit flush after being tightened down, you will be bonzer.
does that make sense??

So basically just like the plates you can buy.
You use the orig studs to bolt the plate on and you fit studs to the plate that you bolt the wheels to?
