my friend has an 89 yota 4 cylinder with
a 5 speed . want to install a yota v6. can this be done without changing the tranny ? also any other changes he would need to know would be great to know thanks

As an owner of a Toyota V6, I say skip it and chuck in a vortec or V8 150 Hp, head gasket issues, and other garbage makes the motor not really worthy of a swap, IMO. And it is a PITA to work on. Of course, mine has 180K on it, and still gets me to work everyday <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0">
