All you CO cruiser guys! I'm hoping to have my FJ-60 in CO soon, but I need some help with my carb for the higher elevations. In Steamboat we're right at 7,000 feet, but up on some of the passes close by we're at 9,000. I have an edelbrock 650 cfm--- sucks for the most part. Do you all know of any good shops or garages that could help me, or set me up with a quadrajet? I'm running a 383 stroker.
Thanks, Peter

Try Eric Chandler, he's out of littleton Co.
He does great work on Toyota stuff, he took my stock Aisin and made chicken salad out of chicken $hit.He does a great job. He does all the carb rebuidls at Burt Toyota in Denver. He might help you on your edlebrick. Give him a shout! He is a fellow crusier head himself! lechandler@earthlink.net [ 08-15-2001: Message edited by: bennett ] |

I live in Steamboat and just drove my car (75 FJ-40 - stock 2F and carb) out from NJ in June. I haven't really noticed too much difference yet, and I have actually seen an improvement in the gas mileage from 11.5 mpg to 13-13.5 mpg since having it to CO. Go figure. I've taken on a trip down to the Arkansas River and went through Leadville with no noticeable differences other than a slightly less amount of power uphill. With all that said though, my carb is on my work bench for other reasons awaiting my return to CO on Monday. But right now I don't plan on changing the jets. Look me up when you get out to Steamboat. There are a few of us there interested in possibly forming a club. I live up in Tree Haus, and have the ugly teal green FJ-40 with a black bestop soft top and doors and a HiLift jack mounted to the bumper. I usually have 1-3 yellow labs in back! Also, "jmu.edu", James Madison?? I'm a Hokie!!
