I am looking for a good source of second hand parts for my 40. Currently I am chasing front end disk brake parts for a conversion. Also looking for FJ or Mini-Truck (Hilux) Power steering box. Can anyone help?

Have a look at www.3wj.com they're always saying there the biggest 4x4 wrecker in Australia and it shouldn't be too hard to get stuff out to Canberra from Sydney.

Bewdy Fellas! Thanks for replying. It's good to get some Cuiser support in Aus.
Rhino, I'm looking to do a front end disk conversion on my 9/74 FJ40. Any disk brake front axle from 40 series would be great. I would actually prefer a 79-85 Hilux disk brake front axle. I have heard that these are slightly beefier, but eather axle will do. The cheaper the better! Also looking for a power steering set-up. The whole box and dice. Again, either Hilux or Cruiser. Thanks again

It's too bad you blokes drive on the wrong side of the road because your friends here on top of the planet could make you a good deal on mini truck steering gear. You could be importing that stuff for $100 US mate.

for your disc brakes dude, what sort of car do you have?
40 to 75 are the same rotors and calipers, hiluxes are similar but non-vented! with thinner calipers, but you need the steering hub part and the caliper and the rotor and you can "convert" your drums easy as, probly! live in qld, can get most parts easy as! have many things for 40's specially enignes trannies, hard tops, diffs adn so on, wrecked a few and kept some shiny bits, have roofs coming out of my ass too! sides and barn doors, and stuff! (if you do anything, get the late model transfer, from 42-75 series, they are stronjger, and better, no drum brake, but easy to do a disc brake conversion on the tailshaft tho)
