should be purdy dern easy . the rear spring hanger is outboard now so move it on to the frame and build new rear mounts on the cross member.. i have thought about this and i think you can soften the spring ratio enough to make it gooey and flexy most fj's i have been around flex great in the front but lack articulation in the rear . that mod should yield good results with the right springs ...
tell me what your thinking about doing ..

just that, I am going to a centered D60 and it looks like a no brainer
was going to use 2.5" ranchos SOA should work sweet, just have never seen it done- probly because of the off set pumpkin thought it would flex well and still handle on road also the D60 is going to be 65" wide so it will have lots of leverage on the spring

ive pondered it also, but then when i actually looked at my rig it seemed as though i had a 22 gallon problem. yup i only run the rear aftermarket tank and it sits between the spings. and allen you are right, my front works dope but my rear just follows and hopes to one day be as good! jiMMy FJNOTCJ

FrostyFJ - Maddog was in the middle of building a rock buggy where he narrowed the rear frame and in-boarded to the rear springs. Isn't he up in Ridgecrest?

I have been contemplating basicly the same thing.
I have a 40 that I plan building up this winter. It is in the "pile of shit" stage. Building a tube frame off of say, 2x6 squre tube as the main frame. and running them both straight and parralell. same width in the front, but all the way back. and running the same springs (leafs) front and back. I figure It would be the same as in-boarding the rears.
