Post rubicon

just got back last night. had a blast. Jim made his second run through the box and don walked his pig through there. We fixed a jeep (tierod), a mini (driveshaft), and a bronco (tore the box from the frame) none from our group. All our Cruisers went through without a hitch. Reddog was teaching the old dog a new trick (rollover) so with a few new dings, scratches and dents, heres to a fun run

RockDogs:

Sorry we missed you guys on da 'Con - we (Dog House, KK, Complaine and Shipwrecked) ran Fordyce on Saturday - got to the end of the trail by 4.00 with no troubles, decided to head over to the Con. Trouble was, we got a bit lost coming in the detour route and ended up camping at our spot on Inspiration at 10.00. The traffic up Cadillac Sunday was ugly - sat around for what seemed forever until someone finally heald up traffic enough for us to get down (it is a two-way trail, ya know!) Dog House was trying to raise y'all on Ch7, but no luck. Made it through without too many hitches. At the end of the trail Shipwreck was checking his steering and found the studs on the Hi-steer arm had sheered! luckily we had brought a spare drivers side knuckle (thanks for the advice DogWalker!). Got that replaced in an hour or so and headed out to have some diner in Pville! Got Home around 12.30! Cheers folks - thanks for posting those great pics. Andy

It was totally bitchin ! Jim ran the box with his agressive attitude, and I'm talkin serious ATTITUDE ( No fawkin fear !) ! FC187 walked his 55 through there like he had some kind of force field around him ! That was the most impressive part of the trip. I didn't think it could be done and he did it with ease !

Two days on the trail with out a hitch and just as we're ready to go, I roll it in the parking lot !

Maybe it was one too many brewskis

Krusty and Complaine, you guys must have been right behind us, I think we went thru P-Ville about 6 or 6:30.

BTW I think the our club is going to start a business at the bottom of the Sluice Box, "Rock Dogs Welding Service and Trail Repair", Beer, food and cash donations accepted, LOL !
I've never done so much welding on the trail before !
We fixed a Bronco where the steering box had broke the frame, that one was fun......
Welded up a broken Jeep drag link and also welded up a Toy truck driveline. They all got out so they must have been good welds.

(Notice I didn't mention any trail repairs on Cruisers, cause there weren't any ! )
Oh, I take that back, I bent a rim and lost some air outta my tire. A few good wacks with the hammer took care of that!

It was a blast !

Jim and Don did it and I tried but was denied .
Out of about six or more people that tried Jim and Don were the only ones I saw make it.

I am not trying to hert any feelings here but damn that is a Huge pile of rocks in front of that step, i have not ever seen that many there before. But that could be a good thing, becaust it makes it a bit easyer for everyone to get a taste of the box.
Just a point i thought i would bring up.
