Who sells spring plates?

I am in the middle of my SOA and want to do a ubolt flip during this process. My 79 has the non rectangular spring plates with the 1.5in. lip all the way around which I do not want to reuse. They have lost lots of meat due to serious flake rust. I just want some simple 1/4 plates like every vendor seems to sell in the correct ubolt spread for minitrucks and 4runners but not our 3.25 ubolt spread. I have checked every vendor I know of and no one sells them.

I scoured the rancho, superlift, and skyjacker catalogs and found a ubolt kit from rancho with perfect specs for our axles and ordered it from summit racing (for reference you want part RS77011) but found no spring plates.

Yes I know I can buy 1/4in. flat bar and make my own but in the interest of time and with steel prices the way they are at the moment I am more than willing to part with some $ so I can worry about building other things.

I used 3/8" flat for mine...1/4 is too thin if you don't have bending equipment.

order them from all-pro for mini and elongate the holes or weld and redrill. The all-pro ones have nice lip for strength and are thick.

I used to run Ford F150 spring plates....cheap and all over the junk yards.

On the front of my 40 I use 1/2" steel plate and I don't have leafs in the back.

I think my fronts are F150, or Chevy 1/2 ton... can remember..

The backs, I used 1/2" plate, and they are bending slightly with 100lb-ft on the u-bolts. Not enough to concern me...

Manafre sells them. I have them on both of mine. They are 1/2 material though.

Just get some 73 and older plates and spend 5 minutes to box the two open sides in. Plenty strong and cheap. I'm sure half the guys on this board have a couple of sets laying around, rather than me try and sell you some. You can PM me if they're all sleeping!

Got some beefy 1/4 inch plates (bent up about an inch front and rear) from Sky manufacturing.
