73 fj40 hardtop & doors

thinking about going soft top, just wondering what my hard top and doors are worth, I just put all new felt, rubber, windowguides, fos liner on the inside, and paint around the windows, outside paint excellent (the top and doors are blue).

fJ40 Top and Doors

The interesting thing about tops is your geographical location. An FJ40 top is difficult and very expensive to ship so your buyer is near by. I am looking for a hard top and I am in your area. I also have a pretty new soft top if you are interested. Let me know.

I would think in the $600-700 range. Mabey $800 if your lucky.
Although I know of someone around here that got $900. It's all about the buyer.

Send a message via Yahoo to Jason M
Generally I can get them all day long for $4-500
To me it is one of the wierd things about cruisers. You can buy a whole cruiser for 3K and people believe that the tops are worth a third of that? Then the axles are worth a grand a piece and so on.

Donno, it really depends on if you live in an area where rust is a dominate issue....

It seems in Texas you can NOT giveaway a hardtop! Location is the biggest factor. Currently I use my hardtop to keep leaves out of the hot tub!

Sigh, the doors (rusty bottom edge) and sides (broken glass on one) are just scrap metal! Folks have promised to pick them up, but never show.

What you ask and what your gonna get are the driving factors of the sale. I have seen them go for as much as $1,500, but these were in perfect condition. It all depends on how bad someone needs a top and doors. I have bought two tops, they were both in need of repair. The first one I traded some junk for, didn't have doors, and the 2nd I paid $300 with doors. All it needed was the rear door glass.............

I'm looking for one

I just bought a 78 fj40, and I'd love to have a hardtop + doors for it.

Anyone in the midwest have a set to sell?

I bought a top and door set last year for 150 bucks. The driver window is screwed up, and the top had a small crack. Relatively good condition though. Location is key, demand curves vary for everything. Like the guy in michigan with the HP RC D60 for a 79 ford for 2000 bucks. Yeah those are hella axles, but 2 g's get real. maybe in michigan but not around these parts buddy.
