j-springs w/ 10mm packers.
plans for 1.25" wheel spacers (should work nicely with 7.5" rims and still be able to stuff them)
PM you on tundra rims
will definitly keep posted on the wear of the tires, with that deep of tread I have feeling the will last a good long time ...my swampers at 10k miles barely wore at all (35" trxus)...and they were pretty soft.

Looking Good! What is the backspacing on the Tundra wheels? I can't afford to go to 37s but I'm thinking my next set of 35s should be on 17"s.

They are 4.75. I seated my stock 16" and the new 17" on the hub (without tires) and they had the same alignment to other aspects of the wheel well and such.

edited to reflect BS of 4.75, not 4.5.

Check your PM!

powder coated wheels

Just to clarify, the tundra wheels are painted, but the other link I sent that shows the old stock chrome wheels powder coated in matte black were quite the affair.

First, the sandblaster will never blast chrome again (only 98% came off, I had to do some grinding and chipping after getting them back...so some of the wheels have some grinding depressions and wavy look to the outer rim (nothing that will effect the performance). One of the wheels have a SMALL bit of raised old copper on the face)....NONE of which makes them look terrible when looking as a casual observer...of course, not 'show quality', but we don't do that here!

I wouuld say the average blasting/powder coating shouldn't cost more than 50.00 per wheel. I paid slightly less, but I have ties with local dealer.

EDITED TO CORRECT BS from 4.5 to 4.75 which will be ideal with 1.25" spacers. not too wide, not too narrow. still trimming needed...but hey, that's expected! I bought this thing to wheel...eventually...DAMN KANSAS.

I doubt you will get very many miles on these tires due to their very soft compound. But they look good, and isn't that all that really matters!

Chrome shops can "de-chrome" as well, usually pretty cheap too...

true,,,,not going for mileage (wasn't with my previous trxus either, but they seemed to wear great). I get bored quickly and something new may come out when these are worn and ready for replacement...gives me good excuse to get new tires

also, chef, I called a bunch of finishing shops in KC and ironically none of them offered de-chrome services...found a bunch in california though but it's a great tip if you have a service to do this, as the wheels would definitly come out smoother.

I'm bringing this to the top for a follow up. I am considering this combo on my FJ40 because I think the rims are bad ass.

I got a whole 16,500 miles out of a set of Truxxus on my Dodge Cummins! I wasn't hard on them but they lasted all of ten months! Right around a nickle a mile. They worked great but I guess they couldn't handle the torque. The rears wore at about a 2 to 1 ratio to the fronts and I DON't do burnouts (until they're shot )

I am looking for how they are holding a bead and how whey handled some milage. Have the tires developed a bad wear patern.
I have seen a couple sets on ebay but hold on they cost a couple of bills.
And cruzer75 mine will drive this weekend how about you.
