We went to Tellico today to check out the campsites and the local conditions.

2 weeks ago it snowed 3", rain ever since. Should be normal Tellico weather.

Paid campsite rates have gone up to between $8 and $11 per night. Big Oak Cove is redone and is open. It is a good place for a large group if you get there early

The bear problem is not as bad as it was last year but they will enforce bearproof containers for all food in any of the paid campsites especially along the rivers.

The old rule on alcohol was it was OK to have it packed up in your equipement and cross the ORV area on trail 1 if you were on the way to camp in TN. That no longer applies. There is no alcohol in any form in the ORV area. If you come in from Murphy, NC beware

Green Cove motel is full

Lots of new outhouses

Man i wish my cruiser was finished.

We have a trip planed for this June so i dont have to wait too long.

Unless they've re-done the Green Mold, I feel sorry for whoever is renting rooms at that rat-trap!

Best trip to Tellico we ever had was late fall, my best friend and his GF, me and my wife. We had a campsite with all the required crap but around 11PM we went back to the Green Cove motel for showers and heat. Got up early and had a nice bfast in camp then a day of trails. Sorta camping lite

Havent been since winter but i HIGHLY doubt it.
