LSPV bypass

Should I bypass the LSPV on my fj62? I'm running stock brakes all around.

Will it improve brake feel?

How do you do it?

I'm wondering b/c it's right where I want to mount my trac-bar after my soa.

quick easy and dirty way to bypass this thing.. get a brake bleeder out of a caliper core you have lying around. you keep a brake bleeder shutoff in your trail spare kit right? well... trace the lines. up by the passengers feet on the top of the frame you'll find where the rear brakes tie into the front brakes. remove the rear system from the front. put in the brake bleeder shutoff thingy you just scavenged from a caliper core lying around the garage. ok.. fronts are isolated from the rears.
now trace where the rears go thru the valve body up under the tub. remove the long line that ties over to the LSBV or whatever that thing is. re-bend it to where the old line went to the rear axle. it will be about 3-4 inches short of reaching where the soft line drops to the rear axle. go grab your spare knuckle soft hose flex line you replaced last time you built knuckles on your truck. tie that into the hard line to make up the difference between the hard line you just bent to fit to the rear axle. re-bleed all your brakes and give it a shot.
when you get time make a new hard line to run the distance of the frame from the front of truck drop for the rear axle brakes to the flex hose that drops to the rear axle. takes all of about 5 minutes if you have the flex hose and a brake bleeder shut off valve lying around. I can snap pics later if you need. i haven't bent a new hard line yet for mine..
oh remove the LSbv thing and save about 12 ounces of weight as well. HTH..

That's kind of a start....

Not too technical, but very discriptive.

How about one of these:

There is actually a lot about this stuff on the pickup/4runner forum. Is everthing the same as LandCruisers???

you wanted to remove your lsbv not instal a prop valve. they are too different things that perform a similar function. trace the brake lines under your truck and you'll see what they do. and I believe it's called a load sensing bypass valve not a load sensing proportioning valve like what is on an fj40
It actually transfers the fluid to the front brake system unlike a proportioning valve which limits/changes the amount of fluid and pressure that goes to each circuit. I would first remove the LSBV from the circuit and get a seperate front and rear brake circuit. test that. Then if you feel you need a proportioning valve then yes get an adjustable one from summit or jegs. same thing as the wilwood valve just cheaper and relabeled. how technical do you want me to got here?
i don't know mini's so i cannot help there. I am not sure if a minitruck runs a Proportioning valve or a bypass valve so I cannot help. i can take pictures of the line I capped and the line i rebent in the morning if that will help.
