Hot Springs Cruiser inspection - help a cruiserhead out

This was posted on the LCML today:

I am a 8 or 9 year TLCA member and former '75 FJ40 owner (wife drives a mildly modded '97 FJ80). Have been searching for a BJ42 for several months and have found a 1984 in Hot Springs, AR. This is only 250 miles from me, but I am still hoping to get a pre-purchase mechanical inspection done prior to going to see vehicle myself. I am more of a driver/abuser (have put many a mechanic's kids through college) than true wrencher, unfortunately, so can use the technical help.

Any advice on shops in Hot Springs area that could perform this service would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Mike Austin
Tyler, TX

are any of you Razorback guys reading this?

I mentioned the Ramble to him, he said the seller wants to move it before then, and wants to get it looked at this week. If any of you arkansas guys could help him out, let me know and I'll help you exchange email addys with him.

-Travis

EDIT: seems I remember some stuff recently about this cruiser, anybody know something?

I'd gladly help, but Memphis is about 250 miles from Hot Springs as well

well, thanks for the offer. I'd like to help too, (I'm in shreveport, 3 hrs away), but I'm pretty busy trying to get ready to be up there june 4-6. Also, I'm not really familiar with 40 series stuff as far as what to look for, so I don't want to check it out when I'm not really qualified to do so.

Anybody else?

As published in Trails
Razorback Land Cruiser and Razorback Ramble contact info: Dave Steelman, dave@arkansasironpig.com, 501-796-8044 or 501-258-6553

I am sure Dave can put him in touch with a club member who could help him out.

I've been in touch with Mike and passed his info on to our club list.

Oddly enough, I'm not sure we have any club members in or around Hot Springs, but hopefully someone will be able to lend a hand or send some useful info his way.
