Warn 8000# Motor

A friend of mine has an 8274 that started running very slow and then finally stopped. He took it to a local electric motor shop and they said the "motor was bad". Here are the specs:

Motor - crestolite# MBJ4401
Motor fits either an 8274 or an 8631
His serial# is 150498
then he wrote something and LN9

Any one have any experience with this - Is the motor bad? Can it not be rebuilt? Is there a replacement motor available?

TIA

Contact Warn. They have all the parts to rebuild their older winches.

You can snag that winch motor on ebay for $150... not sure how good a deal that is. Too bad you have the keyed shaft, the 20 spline motors can upgrade to the Iskra Superwinch Husky motor, HD.

I think Shane (Killerpee) looked up the motor through Prestolite and there wasn't any savings, but might be worth a look.
