another pig under the knife!
we did it! we finally got Greg to give in!

operation "Twrecks" is under way.

he brought it in sunday for a SOA,C&T,traction bar,scout PS,Minni discs, highsteer, doubler.

getting ready for the 5th annual pig run on the con.

yesterday we got the axles out, all the old steering out, droped the cruiser 4 spd and case, and cut all the stuff off the front housing for the C&T. we took a 3 spd bell housing down to the machinist to have it milled out to fit the 465 bearing retainer.









by the end of today, we should have it doubled up

Today was Gregs day. he got the bell housings swaped out from the Cruiser 4spd to the milled out cruiser 3spd and mounted the 465/203/4spd case.


Greg hard at work.......






sm465 nose cone in milled out cruiser three speed BH.....

I would bet we could chop off at least 1,500 lbs of pig fat

the trick to choping the top off of a pig,.....is to leave plenty of sharp edges with burrs

really? the driver side is cast and has the mount for the steering box, and the pass side is steel that was welded on really good so it didnt survive all that well. I have a ton of 40 shock towers too if ya need em.

trimed the floor to get the tranny and doubler in place...







fabed the mounts for the t-case x-member......





got it sitting on its axles to set pinions.

this is gonna be its ride height with 35's.....

Yeah, I looked at that second picture a little better and saw they didn't survive too well... I just thought they would be a cool alternative to the F-250 mounts. My 40 mounts are fine, but need to move out for PS conversion...

Got any clean pass side pig mounts that aren't all messed up?

na, sure dont they weld the living F**K out of those things. I torch them off the frame, so I would rather sacrafice the tower to avoid screwing up the frame

I am doing tube towers on Gregs, but ford's aint that bad at all.

thursdays progress
got the front axle cut and turned today

pinion 15 deg. caster 4 deg.






and got the rear axle together and painted.... and extended the sway bar legs.





Greg dropped by Lukes shop (4X4 Labs) yesterday and picked up a set of his fancy shmancy highsteer arms and TR/DL, and brought them in today. NICE STUFF!
