Compression results would help, can be done out of the motor and oil pressure would have been nice. F's aren't that hot of a seller, have a couple in my barn. Any engine is worth more if it is in a running rig and can be taken for a drive. $50 core, $300 as a good runner. No matter what it is a USED engine. A wrecking yard would sell ya one if they had it for $1200 bucks or more, however. Location is also a factor.

I usually pay more for the stock accessories on the motor [air cleaner, carb, exhaust manifold, dizzy] than I pay for the motor itself.
Really depends on how long you want to look at it.

When I thought I had bloen my engine I did a lot of looking. Fortuntly only the Rod Bearings froze and it was an easy fix.
Found some "running" engines for a few hundred bucks. A nice guy here offered me one of his running engine for free. When we checked it out and the compression was about 60, even he told me it wasn't worth using. We checked the compression bly placing it on a cherry picker and using a starter test the compression. You can't gauge a price without the compression in my opinion. If all 6 cyl are above 110, then your engine may be worth $1000. If they are low, then maybe as low as $100 as part for a rebuild.
