Air pockets in Block
I have a 350 in my FJ-40. I just replace the radiator, thermostat, hoses and water pump. I think I have air pockets in the block. What is the best way to make sure there are no air pockets in the block. I was getting wild temperature fluctuations on my temp gauge, when I ran it down the street.
Thanks in advance Ken |

Park it on an incline so that the rad fill is the highest point in the system and let it run up to temp for a while to "burp" the system. Leave your heaters on full blast as well to run coolant through them.

sometimes loosening a heater hose and letting it burp there works , yes you loose some water but it may help . you may have a stuck or sticky thermo , that has always caused wild temp flux in my exp. ( which aint much )
