Cruiserhead Doug W. passed away Monday

With great sadness I am informing everyone that Douglas Weinberg passed away Monday suddenly and at a youthful age. Doug and I were extremely close, please keep his friends and family in your thoughts as this is a really tough section of the trail called life. He was working in archeology and on his cruiser in his last few weeks so I know he was dong what he loved, as we all do. Doug loved cruisers and this board. He was a TLCA member and a great member of the cruiser community. I really want to commemorate him with a thread, as he loved this board. Thanks.

Here is Doug last year on our trip back from Belize, resulted in an article in TT earlier this year..

Here's to ya Doug

Yes I agree it was a very good article. He looks like too young of a man to pass away so early.

Doug had an allergic reaction to something while working in Southern California doing archological survey work. The details are vague at best.

Man, that's a shock, despite my also not having known Doug. I, too, very much enjoyed the TT article of your paired up adventures bringing back his Cruiser. The article has inspired me to visit Aztec & Mayan ruins by Cruiser, one day, so I imagine you have a treasure trove of memories from that trip alone, Wayne. So sorry to hear of Doug's passing.

i almost died from an alergic reaction. i got very sick when we were on a trip in a foreign country when i was about 12 years old. my mom took me to a doctor and he gave me a penecilin shot. turns out, i'm allergic to penecilin. not something i wanna go thru again. spent the better part of 6 weeks in the hospital and or at home recovering from that ordeal.

i'm so sorry for your loss wayne.

Google "anaphylactic shock" for more info.

Basically your blood pressure drops to near zero. You are at risk if you have been "sensitized" to some type of antigen that you may not even be aware of. A good example is people that have been stung by a bee or wasp a single time. They may be at risk for anaphylaxis the next time they get stung.

My condolences to his family. Terrible to hear the news. Best wishes to his family.

As for anaphylactic shock, carry an epinephrine shot.
