[QUOTE=Kaderabek]Funny, I almost put that very same shot on the cover of the J/F Trails.
TJK[/QUOT So Todd they must not be so exclusive? I'm looking forward to the J/F TT. I'm a bit disappointed in Toyota 4wd Owner for a bunch of reasons. I'm really disappointed in how they report information. I was on the trail with one of them all day at Cruise Moab. In the premier issue I was actually pictured 3 times. But nobody introduced themself and said they were a reporter for this magazine. Why do they have to be secretive?

Thanks for the feedback, ginericfj80. I take all input seriously. In terms of Cruise Moab, none of the staff from 4WD Toyota Owner were at Cruise Moab--the magazine was still being planned and put together. Our photos were from a contributor. So I'm honestly not sure who this person who rode with you would have been. That may also be why we didn't mention (I assume here) any details on your rig--all we had were the photos with no details on year, mods, owner name etc. At events we attend we make sure to get that info--like Paragon in the premiere issue.
Trust me, you'd know it if we attend an event. Ask anyone who did the Marlin Crawler Roundup with us. We were meeting rigs coming into camp, handing out mags, and photographing/interviewing. Same with Pismo Surf N Turf lately. Ben and I met a TON of people, including Jim Brantley, checking out rigs, and wheeling of course! We published over 30 photos of Surf N Turf in the upcoming issue. Ask the TLCA Trail Crew who took Tiffany Tudyk on the Rubithon, or when I went to Paragon to shoot the TTORA Takeover. I was hanging with Turner, Fireman John, Paul, all those guys--it would never help us to be secretive. We try to met as many people as posible--I personally love it, seeing cool Toyotas and their owners--it's great! Best part of any trip. In terms of the FJ Cruiser story, we have photos that everyone has, and action photos no one has but us. I'm sure it's the same for TT, which as a TLCA member I'm looking forward to seeing as well. Perhaps more importanly, 4WD Toyota Owner also has exclusive DRIVE reports from people who have driven the FJC extensively offroad and can offer superb insights into it from a driver's perspective, not a spectator or brief intro drive story. Let me know how you feel we can improve our reporting. I'm always open to suggestions, and I thank you for your feedback. We'll be at Cruise Moab next year, maybe we'll see you then and can get the "dirt" on your truck. Happy holidays! Dave

4WD Toyota Owner magazine projects
Thanks, Bobby! We're on it--there's the FZJ80 Land Cruiser that we wheeled with you--it has your 80-series Longfields in it of course, which rock with the new Pro Comp 35's and Man-A-Fre 4" lift, and which we just put an ARB bull bar and Warn 12000-pound winch on, and a new FJ40 project, but I'm thinking about a 85 4Runner I found recently. Let's chat. In the meantime, check out these pics of the snow run we did with you.
http://www.4wdtoyotaowner.com/SnowRun.html Everyone I show it to goes nuts over Misfit. That was truly a perfect day for snow wheeling! Dave

A build up from you guys would be sweet, I think it would be a great way to raise money for something.. You guys can build it and then raffel it off to a lucky subscriber.
What do you think???

That's a great idea, and one well worth doing! On a similar vein, 4WD Toyota Owner is part of a project where we're building a Toyota up for a military serviceman who is currently deployed in Iraq. When he returns, he's going to find his truck has amazing mods to it--and he has no idea we're doing it!
![]() For the raffle/fundraiser, we would be proud to support some well-regarded charity. We'll work on starting this up, and we'll keep people informed via the net. Thanks for the suggestion! Dave
