Should I Ditch the Cruiser Hood?

I want to build a new buggy and I wanted it to be a cruiser.

I bought one of T-Fabs hoods. I thought I could jimmy it in there but it just isnt fitting.

Should I ditch it or do you guys have some ideas.

I really want to narrow it but dont know how I could do that with a plastic hood?

So since you people are so smart what do you think?

You are doing this build backwards start with the hood and work around it.

How much narrower is your cowl? Any reason in a none comp buggy?

The cowl is the width of the back of the hood - roughly 51.5" center of the tube to center of the tube.

Tires are 80" to the outside. I dont want to go any wider since it is so low and I will be running 90% JV

TRD,

I think you should layout the front suspension some more before you write off the hood. Put in the motor, axle, constrain the links and see how the clearance is. I am really not sure what this pic realistically depicts.
