Anyone Have a God Damn 80 Series Mirror???
Hey Guys
I know this isnt the "proper" location for this, but I have broken my drivers side door mirror on my 80 for the second time. All of the used car places i have found have mirrors that are broken in the same spot (little plastic tab on the back of it. Anyone have a drivers side (left) electric mirror they want to get rid of? I dont care what color it is, i only need the guts! Thanks

Pull the screw out of the bottom. Carefully pull up the glass, find the broken tabs and then find the flat piece. cover the tab an flat area with black RTV. tape the mirror in place and let it set up. It is a real bitch to get them apart again after RTVing them but I've only had to do that once and that was for an actual glass replacement. I've fixed lots of mirrors like this. Mine have been like this for almost 5 years and no rattles.

Thanks
That was my last fix. I think the high speed driving on washboards road in Mexico didnt like that idea. I am going to try the same idea but with some epoxy. If it doesnt work, i will bite the bullet and buy a new one and re-enforce it before i put it on!
