Hey guys, got a question. I found this 64 FJ45lv locally. The guy is asking $700. I was pretty pumped because this sounds like a screamin' deal on a pretty scarce FJ. I went and checked it out...it was pretty dark by the time I got there but here's what I gathered:

The good:
It appears to be all there. Only things missing are the windshield, the emblems, and tail lights (guy said he has the bezel somewhere).

The bad:
The rust around the roof is horrible. You can knock your fist on the roof and it rains rust. The rear hatch is hanging by the props because the bolts rusted through like they were cut with a saw.

There's a lot of bondo on it. The hood is caved in and you can see through the cracks in the bondo.

The roof is the main thing that concerns me. I don't know how hard it would be to put a new roof on it. I'm going to look at it again in the morning. I've always wanted to have one of these...I'll have to see what the inside looks like in the daylight. Do yall think this thing is worth messing with?

i'd pick it up and at least keep it in my backyard til the right time came around...

that is if i didn't still live at home

maybe offer him 500 and a case of beer?

look on mud ,on 45lv build ups ! guys have repaired the roof ! can be done

bring $500 cash and take it home. sit on it if you have to. if you needa roof panel, get a hold of treeroot, i think he has a spare. he has lots of parts and is willing to sell some iirc.

nice find. please get the vin # and add it to the registry when you get a chance!

It's alright though, I've got a dozen other things I really should save the money for.
