There may be a 2010 Roundup, but it won't be the same..............talked to Randy during lunch, it's a done deal, the park is closing ....If you can make it, Lone Star Land Cruisers plans on going out with a big assed bang ..........John D Hale band is bringing another band from Missouri and we may have live music Sat nite also........

Consequently, if you want to wheel at Katemcy before its closed, you need to do so on or
before June 13-14, 2009. We currently have five more events scheduled before we must
close:
1. March 19-22Lone Star Landcruiser's Round up (closed event)
2. April 24-26 Lone Star Early Bronco's Roundup (closed event)
3. May 2-3 Baertrax's & Trail Duty's Customer Appreciation runs (open event)
4. May 23-25 Memorial Day Weekend Blowout (our last one - open event)
5. June 13-14 Texas 4x4.org's “Summer Run V” (open event – the last at Katemcy)
If there is enough interest, we may cancel our Moab Easter Jeep Safari trip and schedule one
more open event on April 4-5. As it stands, Texas 4x4.org's “Summer Run V” will be our
last event at Katemcy Rocks.
It has been an honor and privilege to wheel with you on this property for the past eight (8)
years. We have met so many friends through the years and hope to see all of you back here
at the Rocks before we close.

Last 2 years my birthday has been spent attending Roundup @ Katempcy has been the most fun 2 birthdays of my life. I was thinking I would have to miss it this year, but maybe I need to re evaluate my $450 fuel cost, or drive out in my 30mpg mobile.

A real treasure is going to be lost.

I think if you saw me drive up in this you would think I was some hippie who got lost on his way to San Francisco. And I don't think the NRA sticker would help when Cowboy is around.

I'm trying to track down a friend who wants to make the drive from the bay area to texas for roundup. I really hope I make it. If not, I'll be having a shiner bock for you, and everyone else who made roundup the kickass event that it is. I've said it once, and I'll say it again: if you want an example of how to put on an event, copy roundup. There isn't a single one better.

Very glad that Im bringing the whole family out for this. Wish it wasnt the last one but...

Looks like we wont be getting out of here until Wed afternoon and running non-stop to the Hard-8 in Brady for dinner Thurs night. Anybody want to join us feel free.

Sounds like its going to be one heck of a party! GRMhick, my estimated fuel cost are $750 and I havent had a job in a year. Think of it as doing your part to stimulate the economy!

Just talked my wife into trying to attend this weekend. Now I'm scouring the Interweb for cheap flights, rental cars, Volkswagen Microbuses full of hippies headed that way.

Anyone have a suggestion on the hot ticket for getting from Chicago to Dallas on short notice without dropping $800 for a last minute airline ticket?

I don't think I'm gonna be able to co-ordinate a trip at this late date. My wife is willing to have the boys for a couple of days, but she'll just be getting back from a conference on Thursday night. I'd wave at her in the airport, fly to Dallas, rent a car, get out to Katemcy in the wee hours of the morning. Have a blast, eat some good BBQ, not win anything at the raffle, get up early Sunday, fly back to Chicago, then have to be at work on Monday morning.

I'll try to meet up with some of you guys that I e-know at another event with better planning.

I was thinking last nite, after we are back about doing a one time special hoodie, with "The Last Roundup" and donate the proceeds to Wheeling for the Wounded, they are having an event in Gilmer in April we are taking part in.

Can you make sure they all come with instructions for how to install an alternator? Before that- I didn't know how.
