need an fj40 throttle cable
I am in dire need of a throttle cable for an fj40. I really just need the housing but if youve got the cable to that would be great. Anyone have one they want to get rid of?

Check this out. I bought a front end from him and he had all the parts for a FJ40. Give him a call. He's kinda close to your location.
Parting out complete FJ40. 2F engine w/30K miles on it, 4 speed tranny/transfer case, tub, driveshafts, and much much more. What is already sold includes the hardtop and all doors, windshield frame, hood, wiring harness, jump seats, and a few other little things. I have pretty much everything else left and need to get rid of it all. Everything is located in Collinsville, OK. All prices are best offer. I can be reached any time at 918-605-9695. Thanks.

Have you checked with SOR?
www.sor.com Search for 042-04B-EC, which is an aftermarket throttle cable for $20.00. If it is long enough, should be adaptable to the 350. One of those items that is such a PITA if it breaks on the trail! Tom

I just snapped the cable on my throttle a couple weeks back. Its bootie-fixed for now, but the replacement is a stock 24" GM throttle cable...found on about 75% of the GM cars in the world. easy fix - 10 minutes in the junkyard. (got one lined up, I've just been too lazy to go pick it up...)

For the last few engine conversions I have been using a mid 80’s Nissan PU cable and pedal. The pedals are made to mount to a flat fire wall and the cable is huge. (3-4’) The long cable is nice to loop down the engine compartment fire wall and back up the bell housing right to the carb. / throttle body. (real clean looking) The only problem it the petal kicks to the right (in to our trans. tunnels) . Either cut and weld the petal to face the right way, or do as I did last, just lop off the top part of the Nissan pedal (were the cable attaches) and weld it on to the top of the cruiser pedal. This last option is good if you don’t weld, since you can take it over to a friend’s house or a welding shop with a six pack. Parts yards should sell you the cable, and pedal for no more than $20 .

Mountain Bike derailer Cable. Stainless, almost exact size, cheap and available at your local bike shop. So cheap grab a couple spares.
