sounds like a good start, with 41" iroks you wont get anywhere in top truck. Best step up to a 47" or 54" for that then your 60 wont hold up. I second the wny a big block? Why not a 5.3 or even 6.0. Same if not more power, same if not less cost and much les weight.

get some pics up!

We are not rocket scientists, we are kinda new to this stuff,we got the motor from my buddies brother, tell you the truth, I don't even know the difference, one big block is the same as the next one to me, this is probably gonna hurt, but we need advice and direction, we are decent fabricators, if you think the motor is heavy, wait till you see the frame or the links, gonna get a lot of flack, my buddy-boss loves big heavy, comes from his time on a tractor, pics comming soon...........

Angry

this website is something, everytime I go to log in, there is something wrong with my password, now when I try to upload pictures it won't let me, this is taking as much of my time as building the truck.
Any opinions out there about ride height? We are in mock up stage, the frame is just sitting on jackstands, we haven't started any of the 4 link or shock mounts yet, the axles are sitting on their tires,we are wondering what is the least amount of clearance we can get away with from the bottom of the frame to the truss on the front axle, we now have about 8", but this thing sits way to high, we are running coilovers and bumpstops, the center of the headlights is 54" from the ground, I want to figure out how to drop this thing wayyyyyy down....

Grady won it on 38sx's! sbc 350,th350,minni case,d44 front, minni rear. IIRC,.. the smallest rig/tire to win.

but the rigs running now ARE giant!

definately try to get pics up! you will get MUCH better build advice when we can see whats goin on.

if you're going to run a 2:1 tcase, I would do a 205. I see no benefit to running an atlas with that ratio (I run an atlas). The BBC will help with votes, if you're aiming for TTC; but you'll sepnd more money per hp comapred to a 6.0.

why is it that in order to view our pictures you first have to go to community, then ckick on pictures and albums, then click on Lloyd? how is it that other threads have their pictures right in the thread? do we have to pay more money? This site has been hard for me to figure out, I guess once I'm used to it, it will be easy.........

Hit "reply" or "quote" not "quick reply". Click on the "manage attachments" button down below. Upload from there. There's a size limit for files listed when you click on it. It's really pretty simple. I don't know how you're doing it, but that's my method. Most of those buttons above the text box are over my head.

Do you have a Photobucket account where all your pics are in? As you are typing in the "quick reply" box look above and see the small yellow box with the mountain. Click that and paste the link from photobucket account. You can the add something like 8 pics per post.

Looks good so far. I would at least step up to 44s. Whenever you submit a pic for the TTC, make sure that its a badass pic of the rig in action on a trail, not just some flex/poser shot. Keep up the good work.

Why do you think you need a frame that is four inches taller?

Hey Loyd I might have a free NP 205 for you if your interested. The atlas would be a total waist of money. You can twin stick the NP205. I've got the 4spd atlas which is 5.44, 2.72, 2.0 and 1.1. I know your worried about braking but when you are in 5.44 low range you rarely have to break. Before my 1 ton swap my 1/2 ton axles, front disk-rear drum would slow me down in 5.44 low range. That tall of a frame is going to limit how low you get it. How long are planning on making the links?
