Retro Teaser

Only a handful of folks on this forum are old enough to remember the early ‘60s so I will give a bit of background. Say 1965 …. a year for great rock ‘n roll -- all of the cool kids drove fast street rods or muscle cars with full-on roll and tuck interiors -- and Toyota made truck VIN FJ4520745

I have been getting increasingly nostalgic for those simpler times with cool street rods soooooooooooo …….. over the past year I learned DIY auto upholstery. My first real project was to do a traditional roll and tuck naugahyde head liner for my extended cab FJ45 project.

I am relatively certain that the likes of this foolishness has never been seen on the Pirate Board

Late-model door panels and the sides of the cab will get the same upholstery.

Of course I had to finish the body and paint work on the roof before I could glue the headliner in. This is an FJ40 fiberglass lid cut down to fit the extended cab 45. The color scheme will be the same as my other 45 – Viper red with silver roof and bezel.

Now where did I put those fuzzy dice

I love the look of that roll and tuck. I also like the look of the 70's diamond tuck!

Jack, you can't do that and not post pics of the project. These must be the indoor project times up your way.

Sweet! I can't wait to see this thing. I'm sure it will be a work of art just like Medusa

Same colors- you'll have a sort of Jekyll and Hyde pair of FJ45s
