FJ62 Transfer Case replacement
Hi all,
I need to replace the TCase on my FJ62 but I heard that I have to take it apart in order to do so.. the repair manual also says that a special tool is needed... is it better to install the TCase/transmission from the donor instead of taking it apart to install it on the existing transmission? Please advice ... thank you!! |

what is your problem with the current case?
yes it has to be disassembled off the back of trans in pieces. its not really hard. the FSM walks you through it. i dont recall any special tools needed. just pulling a couple bearings, so if you have the ability to do that kind of stuff you are gold. doing a trans and case swap is quite a bit more involved. here are a couple pics we took when swapping one for a club member. http://forum.ih8mud.com/ca-jefferson...os-anyone.html
