which muffler for the 2f?

I need to replace the muffler on my 2f, and am curious as to whether I should replace it with a stock muffler or a high flow. I don't want to lose any 'performance'

I know that when replacing the muffler on some vehicles you can create a 'flat' spot on the engine repsonse.

thanks

Shaun

I'm using downey's headers to 3" aluminized exhaust to a flowmaster in my 55, engine is a 2F. Sounds good, didn't notice a loss of power anywhere, but I did see a bit more power at the top-end of my power band. (Gut feeling: Used to stop accelerating at 3200, now it still has power to accelerate to 3400.)

The same exhaust I've got on a 40 is louder, because it's shorter. Mine will set off car alarms at low rpms.

Flowmaster makes several series of mufflers though...I think they have a "quieter" model that is still less restricting than stock and is a bit flatter so it will tuck under better....

I want to say the 60 series?
