I would love to be I need some dam instructions
. I can figure out most of the parts but not sure about the washers and other small stuff. Any hints where to find a detailed install would be great. I have searched read some post has far back as 04 and nothing detailed.

For those who have built a toybox I am stumped. I am not sure which way the alum spacer goes. If it goes the way I think I will have to hone out all the allen bolt heads. If it goes the other way it leaves about a 1/4 gap. Just want to make sure before i crew it up, The first pic is the way I think
http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/...litcase006.jpg the other way http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/...litcase008.jpg Any help would be great

Do you have dowels in the transmission?? The smaller end goes up on the alum spacer. If you have the dowels that is the alignment, if you do not, you need the spacer. It presses on to the bearing in the rear adapter and locates in the bore in the t-case.
PM if you have any other questions or I'll try to hit it here. Scott

You need to go back to Marlin for the spacer. A homemade version will work for a short while before the non heat treated material gives up and your gears become loose in the t-case. Loose gears are not good for splines. Marlin is a great guy and supports his product well, but that could possibly void any potential warranty.
There are two possibilities for the spacer. If it is an early 4 speed without the 5 speed type extension housing, you need two of the mini truck transfer case small diameter thrust washers. The 5 speed version needs an additional spacer between those two hardened washers. Scott

I called Marlin and they said that the spacer goes how I showed it in pic 1. I did not have the dowel pins in my splitcase because its an early 82. They also sent me 3 steel spacers that I put on the shaft. I hope thats where they went you can see those in the 1st pic also
. The gears lined up nice.Sure is purdy ![]() I should just post first pic here

Cool, looks good!!! did you buy the screws for the bearing retaining or were those with the kit? the reason I ask is they should have a different head and that is why you will need to modify the spacer to clear them.
