getting head machined, how much resurfacing?
How much should I get shaved on the head? 50,000, 80,000? The head has warped and it needs a initial resurface, but while at it, I may as well get more taken off to increase the compression ratio. Any input would be great.

The machinest will determine how much to shave off to get the head surface true. As a standard practice check your block deck also. Won't do any good bolting down a resurfaced head onto a warped block....

The machine shop has determined that 6-7000 must be removed to true the head. I've been told that the stock head can have 75,000 removed to increase compression. I don't want to remove that much material unless I know it will be ok, and not open up the water jacket holes to much.

I had mine shaved 40k-50k to up the compression a little bit. I can't say I've ever heard of anyone going much higher than that but I'm sure its been done...
